Scholarships, Awards and Z-Clubs
Youth development, mentoring, and supporting young women are important issues for the Zonta Club of Mississauga.
Z-Clubs
Secondary school Z-Clubs help members to develop leadership skills, promote career exploration and encourage members to participate in community, school and international service projects. In Mississauga, Streetsville Secondary School and Glenforest Secondary School both have active Z-Clubs.

Award Of Distinction
Women are significantly under-represented in the important, high-growth field of information technology. According to Stats Canada, only 15-20% of students enrolled in computer science at the university level are female.
The Zonta Club of Mississauga therefore awards two annual scholarships, each valued at $1,500.00, to a top female Ontario Academic Credit (OAC) Computer Science student in each of Peel's two district school boards. This award raises awareness in the community of women's abilities in Computer Science, urges young women to pursue post-secondary computer science education and to consider computer science related careers. Application forms are available in all Peel secondary school guidance offices. Watch this site for information about application deadlines.
