About The Zonta Club of Mississauga
The Zonta Club of Mississauga is part of Zonta
International…. a worldwide service organization
of executives in business and the professions working together
since 1919 to advance the status of women.
On
the first Tuesday of the month, from September to June, you’ll
find a lively group of women enjoying stimulating conversation
and great food during our meetings at Michael's Back Door
Restaurant. These dinner meetings focus on fellowship and
networking, may include a guest speaker with a focus on women's
issues and give members an opportunity to participate in the
business of Zonta at local, district and international levels.
Individual Zonta clubs select, fund and participate
in community projects which address issues such as women's
economic self-sufficiency, legal equality, access to education
and health, and eradicating violence. Since it’s chartering
in 1966, our Mississauga club has contributed extensively
to enhancing the status of women in our community and abroad.
Members each contribute a few evenings a year to work at bingo,
our primary means of raising charitable funds that we return
to the community through our service projects, scholarships
and awards programmes.
