Youth development, mentoring and supporting
young women are important issues for the Zonta Club of Mississauga.
Secondary school Z-clubs stimulate our youth to develop
leadership skills and participate in school, community and
international service projects. Streetsville Secondary School
and Glenforest Secondary School both have active Z-clubs.
Thinking about starting a Z-Club in your school? We’d

This award encourages young pre-university women to become
aware of the power of their voices and actions in the shaping
of local policy and in advancing the rights and interest
of women in their community. It is an international award
competition, beginning at the local club level.
The Zonta Club of Mississauga offers an annual award of
$1,000.00 and the winner advances to the District 4 level
competition. Applicants must attend a secondary school in
Mississauga.

A new initiative in 2005, Zonta Mississauga has committed
$3,000.00 to a bursary programme administered by Peel Children’s
Aid Society. These funds will be used to enable young women
in care, or women who are heads of CAS supported families,
to further their education and work toward self-sufficiency.
